Description
Height:128cm(50.39in), Width:42cm(16.54in), Thick:26cm(10.24in)Black stone standing Bodhisattva statue of Gandhara style. The Bodhisattva bears aristocratic features with curly hair and characteristic moustache, serene facial expression. Right hand forms Abhaya mudra, left hand holds a water pot. The torso is bare, adorned with elaborate necklaces and jewelled garlands. Deeply folded drapery reflects Hellenistic sculptural traditions. A circular halo stands behind, and the plinth is carved with a row of devotee figures. The dark stone carries rich aged patina. It perfectly integrates Western naturalistic sculpture with Eastern Buddhist iconography, a representative art relic from the ancient Silk Road
