The Buddha sits in full lotus posture with Bhumisparsha mudra, the iconic gesture of enlightenment. Tightly curled hair, serene facial expression, robe draped over one shoulder. Integral carved halo decorated with scrolling foliage and mythical beasts. Multi-tiered base carved with guardian creatures and devotees. Smooth dark stone bears glossy aged patina. A distinguished example of ancient Indian Buddhist sculpture with remarkable artistic and historical significance
