Description
H:6.8cm (2.68in) D:12.8cm (5.04in) This is a Song Dynasty Jun Yao tea bowl, plump and rounded in form with a constricted mouth, curved belly, and small foot??a classic vessel of the period. The entire bowl is covered in Jun Yao kiln-change glaze, with a sky-blue base and large rose purple splashes on the exterior. The glaze is lustrous, with naturally blending colors that showcase Jun ware??s famous ??one color entering the kiln, a thousand colors leaving the kiln?? effect. The rim is gilded, protecting the easily worn edge and adding a touch of luxury. This was a tea vessel for the nobility, valued both for use and display
