Lot 218:
Description
H:10cm(3.94in) W:13cm(5.12in) Weight:310g(0.68lb)This pair of jade bi discs is a masterpiece of ancient jade in the Han Dynasty. Made of Hetian jade, it forms a warm brown patina after long-term burial. It imitates the shape of the "Wuzhu" copper coin, and carves coin patterns and auspicious inscriptions with bas-relief and intaglio techniques. The edge is carved with dragon and phoenix patterns in openwork, with powerful and smooth lines and extremely exquisite craftsmanship. As a ritual pendant for Han Dynasty nobles, it symbolizes "wealth, power and good luck", with extremely high artistic, historical and collection value.
