Cast from fine bronze with overall gilding, the statue sits in a relaxed posture, with a plump belly and a broad smile, hands open in a natural gesture. The shape is full and vivid, fully embodying the auspicious meaning of Maitreya Buddha’s "eternal smile and boundless tolerance". It is a classic work of Ming Dynasty Buddhist statuary, carrying the cultural connotation of attracting wealth and good fortune, and embodying an optimistic and open-minded spirit.
