Lot 298:
Description
H:66.0cm(25.98in) W:42.0cm(16.54in) Weight:28000g(61.73lb)This statue is cast in bronze and gilded. Sakyamuni Buddha sits in the full-lotus posture on a double-layered lotus pedestal, with a high cranial dome and a compassionate, solemn expression. He wears a Thousand-Buddha Robe (the robe is inlaid with small Buddha statues), with the right hand in Bhumisparsha mudra (Enlightenment gesture) and the left hand in Varada mudra (Gift-giving gesture). The lotus pedestal is exquisitely carved with full and regular patterns, and the gilding is mellow and warm. It is a classic form of Sakyamuni Buddha’s enlightenment statue in Tibetan Buddhism. The "Thousand-Buddha Robe" symbolizes the Buddha’s perfect wisdom that "all thousand Buddhas share the same Dharmakaya", with extremely high historical, artistic and religious worship value.
