Description

The main figure Sakyamuni Buddha sits in the full-lotus posture on a double-layered lotus pedestal, with a high cranial dome and a compassionate, solemn expression. He wears a robe exposing the right shoulder, with the right hand in Bhumisparsha mudra (Enlightenment gesture) and the left hand resting on the abdomen. The statue is equipped with a large arched hollow aureola fully decorated with floral and scroll patterns, and a niche-style, multi-layered Sumeru-style pedestal with exquisite carvings. The overall momentum is grand, and the gilding is mellow and full. It is a classic form of Sakyamuni Buddha’s enlightenment statue in Qing Dynasty Tibetan Buddhism, with extremely high historical, artistic and religious worship value.
