Carved from Hetian greenish white jade in full round relief, they are shaped like the ancient divine beast Xiezhi (Bixie), in a crawling forward posture, with carved manes on the back and ring ornaments in the mouth. The details are exquisitely carved, the jade is warm and transparent, and the patina is thick and natural. Xiezhi is a core auspicious symbol of justice, warding off evil and protecting the house in traditional Chinese culture. This pair of ornaments integrates Han Dynasty round carving and line carving craftsmanship, representing the peak of Han Dynasty jade craftsmanship for nobles, with extremely high historical, artistic and collection value.
