Description
Height:3.5cm (1.38in) , Diameter:9cm (3.54in) Scholar?studio seal?paste box of compressed circular form with fitted lid and short foot. The cover is painted in under?glaze blue with birds perched on gnarled branches and jagged rocks. Vivid bird rendering and expressive brush?work create ink?painting?like tonal variation. Interior is plain white with glossy glaze. Base bears under?glaze?blue seal?mark ??Yuan Wen Wu Guo Zhi Zhai??, the studio mark frequently used by Wang Bu. Compact and elegant, freely executed, it represents fine blue?and?white scholar??s porcelain of late Qing?Republic era
