Description
Height:21.8cmWidth:15.3cmWeight:190gAncient jade golden-inlaid human-face mask for Dunjia art, Han-Wei Dynasty. Carved from pale Hotan jade covered with yellowish-brown burial russet. Shaped as human face with hollowed eyes, nostrils and mouth, cloud scroll ears and perforations for threading. Golden wire inlay traces the twelve meridian constellation points, with archaic seal script inscriptions of meridian and occult Dunjia formulas carved along lines. Fine incised lines depict hair and eyebrows. A rare ritual tool of Han Taoist internal practice, physiognomy and divination, integrating jade craft, gold inlay and traditional Chinese medical occult culture.
