Description
Height:6cm (2.36in) , Width:7cm (2.76in) , Weight:560g (1.235lb) An imperial Tianhuang seal dated to the 9th year of Qianlong reign, Qing Dynasty. The stone possesses dense mellow texture, rich golden?yellow tone and thick aged patina. The top is freely?formed high?relief carved with multiple chilong dragons chasing pearl amid billowing cloud patterns. The dragons are dynamically rendered with meticulously detailed manes, scales and claws, demonstrating superb imperial workshop craftsmanship. The side is incised with regular?script reign inscription ??Supervised and manufactured by Board of Rites, 9th year of Qianlong??. The square seal face is inscribed in vermilion nine?fold seal script, bordered by chilong dragon ornaments. The seal characters are grand and formal with deep sharp grooves, thick aged seal?paste remains on surface. Dated and officially supervised by Qing court Board of Rites, it represents an extremely important collected imperial Tianhuang treasure.
