Description
Long:609cm (239.76in) Width:34.8cm (13.70in) Color figure painting on silk. The frontispiece bears calligraphy title "Exquisite Brushwork of Liuru" inscribed by Wen Zhengming. The scroll depicts children chasing, playing with flowers and toys. The youthful figures are rendered with lively, elegant brushwork, typical of Wu School aesthetic. Multiple ancient scholar colophons are attached at the end, preserved in original antique silk mounting. The "children at play" motif symbolizes thriving descendants and good fortune. Tang Yin mastered landscape and figure painting. This scroll possesses folk auspicious meaning and high artistic value.
