H:19.2cm (7.56in) D:6.8cm (2.68in) Weight:90g (0.20lb) This is a black pottery goblet from the Neolithic Longshan Culture, a pinnacle of prehistoric Chinese pottery craftsmanship. Its most striking feature is its extremely thin walls (only about 0.5-1 mm thick), hence the name "eggshell pottery". Made on a potter’s wheel, it has a uniformly black and glossy surface, representing the highest level of handicraft of its time. Used by nobles as a ritual vessel for sacrifices and feasts, it is hailed as "the most exquisite creation of Earth civilization 4,000 years ago"
