L:26cm H:33.8cm This is a low-firing plain tri-color burial figurine of civil official riding horse, made of white pottery body with blue, ochre and orange glazes, fired as an integrated piece with rectangular base.The official wears an orange pointed official hat, with white slip covering his face and detailed long beard carving. He is dressed in long official robe with turquoise sleeves, the main robe retains plain white pottery texture. His hands are posed in a respectful cupped gesture, presenting an elegant and calm demeanor. The horse??s body is shaded with ochre, its bridle and saddle decorated with blue glaze, with tasseled saddle skirt hanging below. Mane and limbs are realistically sculpted.Such equestrian civil official figurines are burial wares of Ming tombs, representing the deceased??s former aides and attendants, embodying the wish for smooth official career and lifelong companions. Plain tri-color wares contain no red enamel, featuring quiet elegant tones. Exquisite facial and costume details make this a fine folk pottery sculpture of Ming Dynasty.
