Description
H:25.3cm W:16.5cm Classic blue and white meiping vase, featuring small short mouth, full shoulders, tapering belly and neat ring foot with balanced elegant outline, a mainstream decorative porcelain shape of Ming and Qing dynasties. The whole body is covered with mild pale white celadon glaze, painted with multi-layer cobalt blue patterns: scroll grass winding vines on the neck, the main body decorated with large interlocking lotus flowers intertwined with scrolls, buds and foliage, and folded treasure flowers near the base, separated by double circle lines to divide layers.The cobalt blue pigment presents vivid rich tone with smooth free brushwork. Interlocking lotus symbolizes purity, integrity and endless vitality, one of the most classic auspicious motifs on ancient porcelain. Meiping vases were originally used for wine storage, later widely displayed in halls. This piece features tight combination of clay and glaze, well-proportioned dense-sparse pattern layout, with great value for ancient ceramic craft research, traditional auspicious pattern culture and antique collection.
