The ethereal figure appearing in his reverie may be a nymph or a mermaid, presenting an elegant and poetic artistic conception.Royal Dux Porcelain Manufactory was founded in 1853 in Duchov (German: Dux), northern Bohemia, Czech Republic. It initially focused on daily-use porcelain wares. Later, it was acquired by the renowned Jewish artist Eduard Eichler (1830–1887). Part of the production was relocated to Berlin, Germany, in 1898.The manufactory is famous for producing ceremonial vases and porcelain sculptures. Early works are dominated by Neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles. Royal Dux remains in operation to this day.
