The composition derives from an original 1778 design by the renowned Meissen porcelain sculptor M.V. Acier. A rare museum-quality piece, it serves as an exquisite decorative ornament for refined interiors.Founded in 1710 by Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony, in Dresden, the Royal Meissen Porcelain Manufactory was relocated to Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen in the same year by imperial decree, to safeguard the confidential craftsmanship of porcelain production.In its early years, Meissen specialised in copying Chinese and Japanese porcelains, most notably Japanese Imari and Kakiemon polychrome wares, achieving such masterful imitation that the reproductions were nearly indistinguishable from the originals.
