The artist’s signature "V. Ricci" appears in the lower-left corner.The painting depicts a warm domestic scene: ordinary country folk gather around a dining table inside a rural cellar. A peasant woman stands in attendance, while a seated couple holds a young child in their arms. A puppy rests lazily beneath the table, alongside rustic objects including earthen wine jars, wooden chairs and farm tools, faithfully recreating the daily life of common villagers.Following the tradition of European realistic genre painting, the work adopts soft, steady chiaroscuro to render vivid, unrefined facial expressions of the figures with rich, mellow tones, brimming with simple, genuine human warmth. It retains its original antique carved gilded relief frame with natural patina. The canvas is well-preserved, making it an outstanding example of Italian rural genre art.
