THE BODHISATTVA SITS IN RELAXED FOOT-DOWN POSTURE, WEARING ELABORATE JEWELED CROWN, COMPLETE PEARL NECKLACES AND ARMLETS, WITH A LARGE HOLLOW SCROLL BACK SCREEN BEHIND. HANDS FORM TEACHING MUDRA PRESSED TOGETHER AT THE CHEST, LOTUS STALKS HOLDING DHARMA BANNERS BESIDE THE BODY, LEGS RESTING ON LOTUS BLOOMS. TIERED WAIST SUMERU BASE SUPPORTED BY THREE CURVED BEAST FEET, CARVED AUSPICIOUS BEASTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PEDESTAL.THICK FULL GILDING WITH NATURAL WEAR REVEALING COPPER CORE, SMOOTH PRIMITIVE AGED PATINA. MAITREYA IS THE FUTURE BUDDHA. THIS RARE FOOT-SEATED FORM FEATURES ELABORATE THREE-DIMENSIONAL CARVING, AN EXQUISITE GILDED TIBETAN DEVOTIONAL SCULPTURE OF QING DYNASTY.
