H:10.6cm(4.17in) D:9.3cm(3.66in) Weight:290g(0.64lb)This brush pot is a masterpiece of Jiading School bamboo carving in the Qing Dynasty. Carved from high-quality aged bamboo root, it features a warm amber patina after years of precipitation. It adopts the bas-relief technique to carve a scene of Arhat (Bodhidharma) meditating, with a peaceful expression, smooth clothes lines, an incense burner and auspicious clouds beside, creating an ethereal artistic conception. As a desk ornament for Qing literati, it symbolizes "Zen enlightenment and peaceful self-cultivation", with extremely high artistic, historical and collection value.
