Carved from high-quality aged bamboo root, it features a warm amber patina after years of precipitation. It adopts the bas-relief technique to carve a scene of Arhat (Bodhidharma) meditating, with a peaceful expression, smooth clothes lines, an incense burner and auspicious clouds beside, creating an ethereal artistic conception. As a desk ornament for Qing literati, it symbolizes "Zen enlightenment and peaceful self-cultivation", with extremely high artistic, historical and collection value.
