Description
H:56.0cm(22.05in) W:34.0cm(13.39in) Weight:14600g(32.19lb)This statue is cast in bronze and gilded. Sakyamuni Buddha sits in the full-lotus posture on a double-layered lotus pedestal. He wears a three-leaf treasure crown (symbolizing Buddha/Maitreya), with a compassionate and solemn expression, adorned with necklaces and bracelets. Lotus stems (a typical Tibetan feature) rise from his shoulders. The right hand is in Bhumisparsha mudra (Enlightenment gesture), and the left hand holds an implement. The robe folds are simple and smooth. The Sumeru-style pedestal is densely decorated with lions, elephants, donors and other motifs, integrating the artistic features of Western Tibet and Ladakh. It is a masterpiece with high historical and artistic value.
