Description
H:21.0cm(8.27in) W:17.0cm(6.69in) Weight:2230g(4.92lb)This statue is cast in bronze and gilded. Tsongkhapa sits in lotus position on a double lotus pedestal, wearing a Pandita hat and monk’s robes with smooth natural folds, hands in Dharmachakra mudra, with Manjushri and vajra implements on both sides. The lotus pedestal is exquisitely decorated, with full and warm gilding. There is a mark in the upper right corner reading "Dedicated on the 5th day of the 12th lunar month, the 54th year of Qianlong reign". It is a classic form of Tibetan Buddhist statue in the Qing Dynasty, with extremely high historical, artistic and religious value.
