Description
Designed in 1956 by Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen and produced by OPE in Sweden, the "Seal" lounge chair is an enduring icon of Scandinavian modernism. This example features a sculptural solid teak frame with tapered legs and elegantly angled armrests, supporting a deep, reclined seat and backrest upholstered in supple black leather. The chair??s open, airy profile and ergonomic proportions offer exceptional comfort, while its refined joinery and organic lines reflect Kofod-Larsen??s mastery of form and function. Retaining the original maker??s label, the piece shows light wear to the leather and a warm patina to the wood, consistent with age and careful use.
