YUAN DYNASTY JUN GLAZE SKY BLUE GROUND POLISHED "TREASURE BASIN" PATTERNED BOWL

Dimensions

H:8.2cm(3.23in) D:21.0cm(8.27in)This bowl is a classic form of the Jun Kiln system, featuring a contracted mouth, bulging belly, flat base, and a copper rim inlaid on the mouth. It is fully covered in a sky-blue Jun glaze with natural crackle across the surface. The glaze is thick, warm, and opalescent, embodying the iconic characteristic of Jun Kiln: "one color entering the kiln, ten thousand colors exiting". Below the mouth is decorated with water wave patterns, and the body is carved with the auspicious pattern of "Treasure Basin" in openwork, symbolizing attracting wealth and good fortune. As one of the Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty, Jun Kiln is famous for its kiln-transmutation glaze. This bowl is a fine piece of Jun Kiln auspicious pattern ware, and the inlaid copper rim adds elegance, combining practical and ornamental value, holding significant historical, artistic and collectible significance.
