H:40cm(15.75 in) W:30cm(11.81 in)H:45cm(17.72 in) W:55cm(21.65 in)Salvo (born Salvatore Mangione), an Italian contemporary artist, was born in Leonforte, Sicily, Italy on May 22, 1947, and passed away in Turin on September 12, 2015. He moved to Turin in 1956 and created there for a long time.In the late 1960s, he participated in Arte Povera and Conceptual Art, exploring identity, history and self-myth through marble inscriptions and self-referential photography. In the early 1970s, he turned to easel painting, integrating the styles of the Renaissance and Metaphysical Art (Giorgio de Chirico), creating landscapes and urban scenes with hyper-saturated colors and a dreamy atmosphere.After the 1980s, he focused on landscape creation, using intense colors and simplified forms to create poetic spaces of "suspended time", becoming an important representative of Italian post-modern painting. His works are collected in the European Parliament, major international art museums and private collections.
