GILDED BRONZE STATUE OF THE KING OF TREASURES IN THE QING DYNASTY

H:24cm(9.45in) L:21cm(8.27in) W:15cm(5.91in) Weight:4626g(10.20lb) This is a Qing Dynasty gilt-bronze statue of Vaishravana (God of Wealth). Cast from fine bronze with overall gilding and mineral pigments, the statue sits atop a snow lion, wearing an elaborate crown with a vertical eye on the forehead, clad in armor with a majestic and heroic appearance. Holding a precious banner in the right hand and a wish-fulfilling jewel-spitting mongoose in the left, with a lotus pedestal decorated with petal patterns, it retains the solemn Dharma aura of Vaishravana’s blessing of wealth and protection of the Dharma despite worn gilding. It represents a classic form of Tibetan Buddhist wealth deity statuary, embodying the exquisite craftsmanship and vigorous momentum of Qing Dynasty Tibetan Buddhist statues.
